    2026-10-01

    • Workflow templates now include title (the problem a template solves, for example "Screen a compound library against a target") and family (its problem family) in List curated workflow templates and Get one curated workflow template. name is unchanged.
    • Step payloads are checked when a run is created. Create a workflow run, and validate or estimate when you pass params, now check each job step's payload the same way a job submit does. New diagnostic codes: invalid_step_payload and param_type_mismatch.
    • Failed sign-ins are throttled per IP address. After too many failed credential checks in a minute, unknown credentials from that address get 429. Credentials that worked recently are unaffected. See Rate limits.

    • Rate limits now count per verified API key (or per user for an access token), not per header value sent.

    • New: Refresh an access token takes the refresh token in a JSON body.
    • Deprecated: GET /auth/refresh?refresh_token=…, because a token in a URL ends up in logs. Earliest removal 2027-01-01. Successful calls carry Deprecation, Sunset, and Link headers.

    • List your artifacts pages with has_more and next_offset, and labels each artifact with its job_name, job_type, or run_name.

    • New: science lookups for API clients: PubChem, ChEMBL, Open Targets, UniProt, RCSB PDB, and PubChem properties (Science lookups). ChEMBL similarity and substructure search need allow_structure_search on the key.
    • New: reference papers: search, one paper, and the papers linked to a job type or paper.
    • New: Get wallet balance.
    • Creating an API key whose expires_at is less than a minute away now returns 400, and so does rotating a revoked or expired key.

    • Assistant limits: a per-conversation spend cap (409 session-spend-cap, with a continue endpoint), a 180-second turn limit, and a 16,000-character message limit.
    • List jobs pages with limit and offset, filters by status, job_type, and name, sorts, and returns full items rows.

    • New: the Assistant API: conversations, turns streamed as server-sent events, turn estimates, and plan-card proposals with approve and reject. Access tokens only.

    • API keys get scopes (read, write), optional expiry, and optional spend ceilings.
    • Writes made with an API key must send Idempotency-Key (400 missing-idempotency-key otherwise).
